YardTakeoff helps homeowners turn measurements and product-label information into a checkable purchase estimate. It focuses on outdoor materials: paving, landscape layers, fences, finishes, drainage gravel and wall blocks.

What we create

We maintain the calculation code, input validation, worked examples and ordering worksheets. You can inspect the formula, change product assumptions, combine material areas and export your estimate without an account. Manufacturer references are identified beside the relevant tool; they do not imply endorsement.

What this site does not claim

YardTakeoff is not a licensed contractor or engineering practice. We do not present the examples as field tests, completed installations or professional approvals. Content and code are AI-assisted, and arithmetic is checked with reproducible test cases. Those checks do not validate a construction design or establish that a product suits your site.

How revisions work

On October 21, 2026 we added roll-by-roll fabric cutting, a five-material patio order, pallet/piece sod comparisons and an open-board fence finish worksheet with mixed-container purchasing. The examples are reproducible calculation scenarios, not claims of completed field installations. We also checked named primary references and added validation for out-of-range results.

Our October 11, 2026 revision added multi-area volume planning, explicit loose-volume conversion, optional supplier weight conversions, purchase comparisons, different coat coverage rates and label-coverage ranges. We also replaced repeated generic FAQs with tool-specific measurement and ordering guidance.
